You bring up an excellent point, one that I've often wondered about as I try to balance my life as a writer and actually living life. how can these writers have these great insights into life if they actually haven't experienced much of it? Are they just full of $%^? or naturally deeply insightful? Book are highly significant to me. They help me figure out life, they help me find meaning and when I stop to think that these writers who i look to for depth and for understanding on life have been locked up in their homes with little to no contact with the rest of the world it really makes me wonder if I'm finding hope, beauty and meaning in a bunch of lies. Then again, maybe that's not so bad.
