You’ve finished authoring articles under someone else’s name for their monthly newsletter. You’ve taken all of e-Bays leftover e-books about as far as they will go on your writing talents alone. You want your content monetized, your articles earning you an income.
How many ways can content be monetized? 10? 20? 100? Whatever the number, you’ll never come close?”Approach the challenge no differently than if you were trying to monetize video, scripts or images that you created. For starters, look at your articles purely as content; nothing else. Don’t attach other uses to your articles or you will diminish their worth and give away all of your leverage if you find yourself in a position negotiating a price. Its content, if you remember. One-of-A-kind, topic-specific articles.
Now let’s ponder a few points for making money out of articles.
You write an article once, you sell it twice, three times, 25 times, 1013 times. And it’s all perfectly legal. Anytime you can create somethng once and sell it as many times as you want is a great deal. One idea is to package sets of similar themes with enough content that you could offer a monthly subscription service. If the market rate for PLR memberships currently averages 29.99 a month, Most people do not write well. They can either wait until an e-book or article is really old, or they can open their wallet. You had 150 subscribers each pay that $29, so your total is around $4350 a month plus any upsell or cross sells. By further narrowing the niches and topics that you write about, you could easily have two or three “Niche PLR Memberships” going at the same time. How does $29.99 x 500 sound?
The relationship readers have with an Author usually lasts until the final sentence of the book, magazine or article we were reading; at least until the next story, article or report. Obviously people have identified with your writing. Don’t hide from them, reach out to them. Remember, we look at authors as “experts.” We are far more likely to make a purchase from an expert or an authority than we are from an affiliate we’ve never met. Break articles up into auto-responder courses, tip of the day mailers or mini-reports. An auto-responder is perfect because it’s your words that provide the common bond, not your personality. Every time you send out a tip of the day, another part of an e-course or a mini-report you have the opportunity to introduce complimentary products and services such as article spinners, article directory memberships or an article submission service. A top sponsor ad and a PS ad on every tip of the day you send out equals 760 advertisements per year, per person! In addition, there’s a side benefit. You will be solidifying and growing your list, without spending any additional money or time.
Spread the word that you’re an Author, and you’re available. Depending on the situation, ghostwriters can make a substantial amount of money, especially if the project involves a product launch. And while there may be a penalty for having duplicate content on a web site or blog, there is no penalty at all for putting together everything you created during a six-month period and offering it as a limited edition, limited quantity, “Best of” package. Articles, e-courses, reports, stories, drawings, and tips-all in one collectors edition package. As you’ve developed your following and earned a reputation as an authority and an expert, a “Best of” package would be a very big, and very lucrative, experience. Learning to ride a bike did not cost you 25 grand. This launch could very well earn you 25 grand. You will need help and support with your Internet Marketing campaign. JV Partners, affiliates, and a solid plan to make sure you succeed.
When it comes to monetizing content, this would truly be the icing on the cake. That’s just fine. One-thousand sales, two-thousand, five-thousand. After you’ve hit $10,000 profit in one day, does anything else really matter each can buy a whole lot of icing.
