The first new STC (Society for Technical Communication) member for 2010 is David Cochrane, who is starting a technical writing company in the Toronto, Ontario, Canada area. The first to renew was Dan Block, a longtime member from western New York State. Let’s see what they had to say!

How did you first hear about STC?
I first heard about the STC when I was a student studying Technical Communication at Seneca College in Toronto.
What prompted you to join STC?
I joined the STC because I believe the STC does an excellent job of promoting the Technical Writing field and providing timely information to writers.
Was there a specific thinking of “I want to sign up right away for 2010?
Yes, I am returning to the technical writing field after a short absence.
