YAHOO will issue its first style guide for all writers and publishers on July 6th.
The style guide will help writers of all levels with shaping their writing for “online reading”, optimizing the posts for SEO and high traffic, suggesting the best ways to use apostrophes, managing a basic level of webpage coding, and other topics.
The guide is already accessible with a limited number of topics and will be available for purchasing in paperback format as well.
I like the section devoted to Word Lists since there really are no standards for writing words like “email” (or is it “e-mail”?), “home page” (“home-page”?), etc. I never waited for any style guide since Microsoft’s own style guide (in its 3rd edition) with this much anticipation. I’m really curious to see the finished work.
