FrameMaker 9 cannot Import MS Word 2010 file
If you try to import a MS Word 2010 file directly into FM9 this is what you get:
This is probably because MS Word 2010 was released after FM9 hit the market. I guess it’s time for a FM9 update or patch.
CAUTION: If you select “Microsoft Word 2007” or “Microsoft Word” option and click the Convert button, you get an application crash and an error message:
After you close the error message FM shuts down automatically.
RECOMMENDED METHOD: Copy your MS Word content and then select Edit > Paste Special from your FM menu. Then select either Text (for no formatting) or Rich Text Format paste options (to preserve Word formatting).
