Let’s say you have a list of hundreds of names typed with all kinds of capitalization errors:

PROBLEM: How can you correct the capitalization errors in every name and make sure each first and last names begins with a CAPITAL letter, followed by lower-case letters?
SOLUTION: It’s very easy. Just select a cell for the edited name enter the PROPER function:

Instead of the (text), use the cell reference for the first name, “A1″ in our case, and the result would be:

Click and drag the BLACK SQUARE down Column B (or double-click the BLACK SQUARE) to copy the formula to all the other B cells. The result should bring smiles to your face, especially if you have hundreds or thousands of such jumbled up names:
